Responsibilities

We are looking for energetic individuals with the desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment as Senior Financial Analyst Interns in the Financial Planning & Analysis Division of Continental Airlines. The division consists of several operations finance groups as well as separate planning and analysis groups. Provide internal financial consulting and analytical support to senior management on both strategic and tactical decisions. Conduct research and analysis of profit improvement initiatives involving revenue generating and/or cost-saving opportunities. Evaluate airline operations to identify opportunities for performance improvement and productivity improvement. Perform various ad-hoc projects and/or transaction analysis that may include present value calculation, tax treatment assessment, and financial performance impact analysis.

Qualifications

Applicant must be a current student within one year of graduation or graduating May 2009, in either: MBA or Masters (with undergraduate degree in either Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Management or Operations). Superior quantitative and analytical skills. Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving ability. Detail-oriented and fast learner who can work well with others in a team environment. Ability to manage and prioritize work multiple projects. Ability to solve multi-dimensional problems and make clear and concise recommendations. Strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated leadership experience. Work experience with computer systems (MS Office-Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word). Proven work experience in fast-paced environment requiring solid, factual decision making ability.
